How to use this online calculator

Tap number and operator buttons to build an expression, then press = to evaluate — unclosed parentheses are closed automatically. Function buttons like sin, ln, and log open parentheses for you to fill in; buttons like , 1/x, n!, and √x apply to the number you just typed. Use the Deg/Rad toggle for trigonometry.

Basic: + − × ÷ ^ (power) % (percent) n! (factorial) Roots: √x, ³√x, ʳ√x (nth root) Powers: x², x³, ė, 10̇, 1/x Trig: sin, cos, tan, sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹ Logs: ln (base e), log (base 10) Other: Ans (last result), M+/M-/MR (memory), RND (random 0–1), EXP (×10 to a power), ± (sign)
Example: Typing 9 then pressing √x gives 3. Typing 2 then then 10 then = gives 1024 (2^10). For a quadratic formula, compute each piece (discriminant, then roots) with powers and square roots.

Online math solver vs graphing calculators

This tool covers scientific functions similar to a TI-84 calculator or Desmos scientific calculator for expression evaluation. It is not a full graphing calculator — for percentages or fractions, use the Percentage Calculator or Fraction Calculator.

Safe, local evaluation

Expressions are evaluated with a custom parser that runs entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a free online calculator app?

Yes — it runs in your browser with no install. Use it as a calculator online / math solver for school, work, or everyday arithmetic.

Can it replace a TI-84 or Desmos?

It covers many scientific calculator functions (trig, logs, powers, roots). It does not graph like a TI-84 Plus CE or Desmos graphing calculator.

Can I solve a quadratic formula here?

Yes — enter the discriminant and root expressions step by step using powers, subtraction, and square roots.
